The Academy and PGA toppers will appear at the inaugural conference in China on March 25.
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences president Cheryl Boone Isaacs and Producers Guild of America president Gary Lucchesi are among the confirmed speakers to attend the inaugural China-U.S. Motion Picture Summit at Grand Epoch City in China on March 25.
The early speaker lineup for the conference to bridge the Hollywood and Chinese film businesses includes Elizabeth Daley, dean of the USC School of Cinematic Arts; writer-turned-director Randall Wallace; producer Don Hahn; producer Hawk Koch; director Betty Thomas; producer Michael Nozik; IM Global CEO Stuart Ford; filmmaker Bruce Hendricks; entrepreneur David U. Lee; attorney Peter Dekom; and Cevat Yerli, founder and head of VR tech firm Crytek.
The first speaker lineup was unveiled Tuesday by Summit organizers Citic Guoan, Dick Cook Studios and Film Carnival and event producer Winston Baker.
“We are thrilled and honored to have such a well respected group of industry leaders who will share their insights on creativity, the art of great storytelling, making collaborative films with Chinese filmmakers, innovative co-production strategies, as well as how new technology will impact the future of making and watching movies,” Dick Cook, chairman of Dick Cook Studios, said in a statement.
The Summit will also hold a technology showcase by exhibitors including Arriflex, Base F/X, Izon, Cytek and DJI. The event will be co-hosted by the Beijing Film Academy and the China Media Culture Promotion Association.
